If there is a place to stop along the road 13, it’s Mo Laksegard ! I found this place by chance, driving from Utne to Jørpeland, having some time in front of me, just wanted to relax somewhere.
The first time I spent a night there was in August 2017…we are in Novembre 2017, and I’ve already been there 3 times ! Brought my mum and friends there, just to make them know this amazing place.
First of all, the place is located close to the river Suldal, very well know for its wild salmons (season from July to September). You can buy a licence to fish at Mo Laksgard, and Bjørn (the owner) can even organise fishing guided tours.
Mo laksgard offers several cabins, all very cosy and well equiped. My favorite is the Small house down to the river, older than 200 years old. Here, the time seems to have stopped (but there is wifi and tv).
On site, you can enjoy a outdoor swimming pool, heated, open from June to september.
And an outside hot tub. It seems like an amazing expérience to be there when it’s snowing outside. Absolutely on my to do list for the next winter ! Another thing which I have to experiment soon is the salmon safari ! Unique in Norway (and maybe in the world as well !!)
I don’t say more, I let you Watch this short vidéo :
Bjørn and his colleague Valborg are warm welcoming persons, they know everything about the area and will help you as much as they can.
Close to the swimming pool, there is a bar where you can enjoy the beer brewed by the owner on site or nice wine (from Italy and France). You can so spend the evening chatting in front of the fireplace sipping wine. Honestly, it could be worse 😉
From Mo Laksegard, you have access to several nice hikes in the mountains surrounding.
If you want to reconnect with nature, forget about the noise and the busy life in town, Mo Laksegard can offer you all you need !
They are organising events all along the year, keep updated by following their FB page
